Position Overview The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, proposals, and techno-commercial offers for cleanroom projects and HVAC systems. The role requires a strong understanding of HVAC principles, cleanroom infrastructure, MEP services, and related industry standards. The candidate will play a vital role in supporting the sales and design team by providing precise estimations, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and technical inputs to ensure competitive and profitable project execution. Key Responsibilities 1. Estimation & Costing Study and analyze project specifications, drawings, and tender documents received from clients. Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates for cleanroom construction, HVAC systems, ducting, AHUs, filtration systems, partitions, doors, and allied components. Develop and maintain standard costing sheets, price databases, and vendor quotations for accurate estimation. Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards, client requirements, and company pricing policies. 2. Technical Review & Proposal Preparation Coordinate with the design team to understand technical requirements and prepare optimized solutions. Prepare BOQ, cost comparisons, and value-engineered solutions for projects. Draft technical and commercial proposals, including scope of work, exclusions, and clarifications. Assist in responding to RFPs, RFQs, and tenders. 3. Vendor & Supplier Coordination Float inquiries to suppliers/subcontractors for equipment, materials, and services. Evaluate quotations and prepare cost comparisons to select the most suitable vendors. Maintain a vendor database for HVAC equipment, cleanroom panels, accessories, and consumables. 4. Cross-Department Collaboration Work closely with the Sales team to provide cost inputs for quotation preparation. Coordinate with the Design and Projects team for technical feasibility, material selection, and compliance. Support the Purchase team by providing vendor specifications and required BOQs. 5. Documentation & Reporting Maintain updated estimation records, costing sheets, and project databases. Generate cost analysis reports and submit periodic MIS to management. Track actual project costs versus estimates to improve accuracy in future quotations. Qualifications & Skills Required Education: Diploma (Mechanical/Electrical) or B.Tech/B.E. (Mechanical/Electrical/Production/Industrial Engineering). Experience: 2–5 years of experience in Estimation/Costing in HVAC, MEP, or Cleanroom industries. Freshers with strong technical knowledge and aptitude may also be considered. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of HVAC systems (AHUs, chillers, ducting, piping, ventilation systems). Knowledge of Cleanroom construction (modular panels, doors, covings, flooring, filtration systems). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tender documents, and technical specifications. Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation tools/software. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills. Good communication and presentation skills. Detail-oriented with accuracy in costing and documentation. Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple quotations simultaneously.
