Air Quality Officer

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head and Deputy Head in developing strategic documents, reports, and policy papers by conducting research and analysis for air quality management projects in India.
• Support the AQAF Coordinator in implementing the AQAF project on air quality management.
• Assist in establishing and operating the Resource Centre under AQAF with the relevant agency.
• Help organise events, stakeholder consultations, and discussions under AQAF.
• Compile stakeholder inputs and assist in preparing reports for AQAF.
• Support communications and outreach of AQAF project outcomes through various channels.
• Follow up on strategic communications with partners based on guidance from the supervisor.
• Conduct research and follow-up actions on air quality issues for UNEP in India.
• Prepare communication materials, including social media posts, on air quality management activities.
• Serve as the focal point for the Head of Office in day-to-day communications related to stakeholder engagement under AQAF.
• Undertake any other duties suggested by the Head of Office and AQAF Coordinator.

Eligibility Criteria

• Experience:

  Minimum 3 years

• Languages:

• English Fluent
• Hindi Fluent

• Education:

  Master's degree in Environment, Natural Resource Management, Law, Social Sciences, Management, Policy, or related subjects

Skills and Experience

• At least 3 years of professional experience at national or international level in environmental management, policy, law, management, or related areas. Experience with air quality issues is an asset.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including drafting and reporting.
• Professionalism and accuracy in producing and editing documents.
• Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with partners at different levels, including community members and authorities.
• Familiarity with air quality management tools and approaches.
