AI Expert / AI Consultant (Part Time / Contract / Advisory)

Objective:

Key Responsibilities

• Understand current software products, client projects and internal processes and identify feasible AI use cases.
• Create AI adoption roadmap for short term (3 months), mid-term (1 year) and long-term strategies.
• Guide the team in AI model selection, prompt engineering, fine tuning methods and evaluation techniques.
• Define the right architecture and frameworks for AI integrations (LLMs, Generative AI, Predictive Models, NLP/NLU, RAG pipelines, Vector Databases, Agents etc.)
• Work closely with product teams to convert use case PoC MVP Production deployment.
• Evaluate AI platforms, tools and APIs and define cost vs value decision matrix.
• Establish responsible AI governance, security, compliance and data privacy guidelines.
• Create documentation, best practices and knowledge transfer to internal developers.
• Train engineering and business teams on AI fundamentals, usage, measurement and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in building AI / ML systems in real world production environments.
• Deep understanding of GenAI, LLMs, NLP, RAG systems, Model Optimization, Agents and AI automation.
• Hands-on exposure with OpenAI, Anthropic, Vertex AI, LangChain / LlamaIndex, Vector DBs (Milvus, Pinecone, Weaviate etc.)
• Strong understanding of python, API engineering, data pipelines and MLOps.
• Experience in AI strategy consulting / solution architecture is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication and ability to simplify complex AI concepts to non-technical teams.

Engagement Nature

• Part-time consulting / remote advisory / monthly retainer or hourly
• Weekly strategy sync + async guidance
• Can be ongoing long term engagement

Nice to Have

• Experience with SaaS startup eco-system
• Experience in BFSI / HR Tech / Enterprise SaaS automation domains
• AI Security / AI Audit exposure
