Packaging plays a central role in our product and brand experience and the R&D team works closely with the Business Group (BG) global brand teams & Business Unit (BU) marketing teams to design and deploy the most consumer engaging, efficient and sustainable brand experience. Job Purpose / Role This Role is based in packaging function within the Business Group R&D team with primary responsibility of orchestrating the delivery of Savings (5s) and Complexity reduction program of Packaging for all the Oral Care & Skin Cleansing (East) Brands. This role is responsible to also deliver the savings program end to end for India BU. This role will need to anchor and drive the global Savings workshop as well as India BU savings workshop partnering with procurement and supply chain and other cross functional teams. Additionally this role may also partly require delivering programs activities within innovation & non innovation (e.g. Renovation, Savings, Simplifications etc.) for the Lifebuoy brands, for global markets and as well as deploy it end to end in the India BU. The position requires strong people skills esp. stakeholder & peer management as well as strong project management skills to manage the large portfolio with minimal resources. Key Accountabilities Track and deliver PC Savings & Complexity Reduction Program Ensure OTIF delivery of the Savings & Complexity reduction program for Personal care east (all brands) working closely with the brand packaging leaders and Capability teams, Savings central team, BU teams and strategy / operations teams. Individual program delivery would be led by respective Brand member and BU other than for Lifebuoy and India BU. Manage project networks for the implementation of packaging ideas across different BUs with support of local teams and all other cross functions. This can also include support to BU to achieve their overall 5S targets in packaging. Curate the consolidated view and accordingly engage with Supply chain, procurement, Brand strategy and Savings & Complexity reduction teams. Manage assigned related primary & secondary packaging projects independently, working with Brand Development and the cross functional project team, to meet category objectives and key milestones. Technical analysis of new packaging designs and provision of feedback to project teams with respect to design viability & also identify possible solutions to sort technical problems minimizing changes to the design intent. Develop a strong external eco-system of suppliers, industry experts & new technologies in packaging Prepare and develop supplier technical briefs where required, working closely with suppliers To manage good technical data records – project data, specifications, test results Accelerate implementation of packaging savings by tracking, doing portfolio analysis, identifying opportunities , maintaining database for 5S by using digital tools like Buyers console , Marco etc. Market / Portfolio analysis to identify new trends via internal and external competition benchmarking . Lead packaging and ensure OTIF delivery of packaging development work for Global Skin Cleansing Category innovations and develop primary packaging designs to meet consumer and business needs All Savings programs under Lifebuoy brand for India to be delivered OTIF end to end. Build relationships with main key Suppliers through innovation or savings projects. Work with operations, regulatory, and quality teams to ensure all packaging is compliant with domestic and international quality standards.
