Role Description
The Department of Computer Science is seeking to recruit a part-time administrative assistant for the iGGi Centre for Doctoral Training to assist with maintaining the programme's research output database and to help establish a vibrant iGGi Alumni Network.RoleDuties to include;
  • To keep track of iGGi-authored publications and forward the details of new papers quarterly as a csv file to the person responsible for adding them to the iGGi website's database (currently Susanne Binder)
  • To help set up and maintain a database of iGGi Alumni, helping to track alumni activity, maintain contact lists
  • Liaise with current students and alumni to collect updates and stories for newsletters or reports.
  • To suggest and help organise events or initiatives targeted (fully or in parts) at iGGi Alumni with view to establishing an iGGi Alumni Network
The successful candidate will gain practical experience in managing academic outputs and building alumni engagement as well as benefit from flexible working times that can be fitted around study commitments.

Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed

  • Level 2 qualification. (Qualifications at this level include five GCSEs at grade A*-C/ grade 4-9. Please view the full list.) We also welcome applicants with equivalent non-UK qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues
  • Knowledge of the process of academic paper submission, publication, conferences and institutions relevant to iGGi, and underlying university/funder regulation (e.g., regarding open access)
  • Experience of collecting and analysing data and presenting summary information in a clear and concise format
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
