As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the detailed design of various hardware sub-systems including analog, digital, power & mixed signal circuits. Your role will involve identifying electronics components, both analog & digital, to realize the individual hardware sub-systems by studying component datasheets and technical design notes. Additionally, you will collaborate with vendors for prototyping samples and procurement for pilot runs, as well as compile and finalize bill-of-materials (BOM) for various sub-systems. Your work experience should demonstrate your ability to understand analog/digital component datasheets and evaluate their fitment in identified sub-systems for specific intended functions. You will work closely with PCB designers to realize the PCB for the sub-systems, ensuring adherence to recommended practices for low noise, low emissions, and improved signal integrity. Board bring-up for individual sub-systems and system-level integrated testing will also be part of your responsibilities, along with compliance with EMC standards. Desired skills for this role include understanding creepage/clearance requirements of IEC 60601-1, working knowledge of measurement & testing tools, interfacing & signal conditioning of sensors, and knowledge of thermal characteristics of components. You will also be responsible for liaising with external labs for EMC & IEC testing, supporting the software team in software builds, and managing controlled document lifecycle using PLM applications.
