As a Scala Developer with expertise in Akka, you will be responsible for developing distributed systems and backend services using Scala and Akka. You will work on building robust APIs with Akka HTTP and integrating backend systems with frontend and external APIs. Collaborating closely with product architects and DevOps teams, you will participate in sprint planning and system architecture reviews to scale backend systems in a distributed environment. With at least 4 years of Scala development experience, you should have hands-on expertise in Akka HTTP, Akka Streams, and the Actor Model. Understanding message-passing concurrency and back-pressure handling is essential. Your knowledge of DevOps practices and tools will be put to use for maintaining and monitoring services in production. Experience in test-driven development (TDD) is crucial for ensuring system quality through unit and integration tests. Preferred skills include familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control using Git and Jenkins, RESTful design principles, and OAuth. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies will be beneficial in this role. Apart from technical skills, soft skills are equally important. You are expected to be an effective communicator and collaborator, capable of handling responsibilities independently.
