As a Lead Ruby Developer at Sarvaha, you will leverage your expertise in Ruby and backend architecture to work on challenging, high-performance systems. Collaborating with a talented team that values quality, ownership, and clean code, you will contribute to building, maintaining, and scaling backend systems using Ruby and Ruby on Rails. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing scalable APIs using Rails, Grape, and ActiveModel, as well as tuning performance across the stack to optimize GC, queries, jobs, and server setups. You will have the opportunity to develop, package, and publish custom Ruby gems while optimizing ActiveRecord queries & PostgreSQL indices to enhance query plans and eliminate N+1 issues. Managing application servers such as Passenger and Thin, you will tune thread/process models and own deployment pipelines, initializers, routing, and Rails engines. Additionally, you will profile memory usage, monitor connections, and optimize worker threads, ensuring efficient system performance. Collaborating cross-functionally with frontend and DevOps teams, you will contribute to code reviews, mentoring, and agile development processes. Your strong proficiency in Ruby, deep knowledge of thread vs process models, and familiarity with OOP principles will be essential to your success in this role. With a minimum of 8 years of professional Ruby development experience, you will also demonstrate expertise in Rails internals, PostgreSQL, gem building, and tools like Bundler, Rake, Rubygems, and more.
