We continuously review our run state from an internal perspective, providing feedback to our development partners on how to improve the customer experience of our applications. Responsibilities : As a BizOps Engineer I, your key responsibilities will include: Engaging in and improving the entire lifecycle of services, from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement. Analyzing ITSM activities of the platform and providing feedback to development teams regarding operational gaps or resiliency concerns. Supporting services pre-go-live through activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews. Maintaining services once live by continuously measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health. Scaling systems sustainably through automation mechanisms, and evolving systems by advocating for changes that enhance reliability and velocity. Supporting the application CI/CD pipeline for promoting software into higher environments through validation and operational gating, and championing DevOps automation and best practices within Mastercard. Practicing sustainable incident response and conducting blameless postmortems. Taking a holistic approach to problem-solving, connecting the dots across various technology stacks during production events to optimize Mean Time to Recover (MTTR). Working collaboratively with a global team spread across tech hubs in multiple geographies and time zones. Sharing knowledge and mentoring junior resources. Qualifications : BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience. Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design. Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a strong sense of ownership and drive. Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks. Experience in dealing with difficult situations and making decisions with a sense of urgency. Preferred experience in one or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby. Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems. A strong appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with automation. Essential experience working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build strong relationships. Experience in industry-standard CI/CD tools like Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef. Desired experience in designing and implementing an effective and efficient CI/CD flow that ensures high-quality code delivery from development to production with minimal manual effort.
