Design Engineer-Power electronics Qualification: - Bachelor of engineering or equivalent in Electronics/Telecommunication/IT or electrotechnical (micro-electronics, radio-electronics, power electronics) No. of years Experience - Min. 1-5 years working experience in Power Electronics, Freshers can also apply. Job description- Must have a working knowledge of various power supply topologies and associated control schemes. Strong experience in ACDC, DCDC energy conversion, linear and switching regulation from low to high power Perform trade analysis of different topologies, new technologies, design approaches, engineering simulations & modeling before finalizing the design. Implementing the products that meet Design for Manufacturing, Design for Test and Design to Cost Clear understanding of various MCU peripherals including ADC, DAC, PWM and analog peripherals. General understanding of digital control techniques including PID design. Must have experience of coding various communication protocols including I2C, PMBus, SMBus, SPI, UART and USB. Experience with some of the simulation tools such as ANSYS, PSpice, Simetrix, Simplis Should have general knowledge of assembly language /C programming. Should have knowledge of EMI/EMC and Thermal management Desired to have advanced knowledge of MCU devices and DSP’s, including architecture and development tools, for one or more of the following suppliers. Microchip Texas Instruments Freescale/NXP ST Microelectronics Desired Skills- Basic skill of operating laboratory equipment’s Should have Good functional written and verbal communication skills in English. Should be capable of direct technical communication with customers and other technical resources, in English, to discuss requirements and to help define solutions. Department: Product Development (Power Electronics) Reports to: Technical Lead- Product Development (Power Electronics) Job Summary: Detail-oriented and technically proficient System Engineer to contribute to the development and optimization of ACDC and DCDC converter systems for industrial and mobility applications. This role focuses on system-level design, integration, validation and support of power conversion products. The candidate should have solid experience in power electronics and system engineering with exposure to high-efficiency topologies, EMI compliance and thermal management. Key Responsibilities: System Design & Integration: Support the system architecture and specification for ACDC and DCDC converter platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, control, thermal, packaging) to ensure effective system integration. Participate in component selection, system sizing and interface alignment. Product Development & Validation: Assist in design reviews, requirement validation and technical document preparation. Coordinate and perform system-level testing for functionality, efficiency and protection mechanisms. Support hardware-firmware integration and debugging. Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC, UL, IS) for power converters. Engage in EMI/EMC, thermal and safety qualification testing. Documentation & Support: Generate and maintain system documentation such as specifications, test plans and validation reports. Provide support during prototyping, manufacturing and field deployment. Continuous Improvement: Participate in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Recommend design enhancements for cost reduction, performance improvement, and reliability. Required Qualifications: Bachelors or Master’s in Electrical / Electronics / Power Electronics Engineering. 5-7 years of experience in ACDC and DCDC converter design and validation. Proficient in converter topologies (Buck, Boost, Flyback, LLC, PFC, etc.) and digital control implementation. Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS), PCB design tools (e.g., Altium/OrCAD) and digital controllers (e.g., TI C2000, DSPs). Understanding of EMI/thermal design and safety standards (IEC/UL). Strong communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.Bottom of Form
