Location:

Role Purpose

Manage daily GL activities with ownership for month-end close, journal posting, reconciliations, and sub-ledger coordination. Ensure accurate intercompany matching and work with country finance teams to resolve variances. Support statutory and audit deliverables and participate in process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger & Journal Entries

• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, reclassifications, adjustments, and standard recurring entries.
• Ensure journal entries are accurately coded, properly supported, and comply with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Review transactions for correctness before posting and follow approval workflows as per policy.

Balance Sheet & Account Reconciliations

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations across assigned GL accounts (e.g., accruals, prepayments, GR/IR, payroll, fixed assets, intercompany accounts).
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis; ensure open items are cleared before period close

• Document reconciliation commentary with clarity and maintain audit-ready supporting schedules.

Month-End Close Support

• Execute close calendar tasks and meet all reporting timelines.
• Validate sub-ledger interfaces (AP, AR, FA, Payroll) before GL close and escalate mismatches.
• Support preparation of financial schedules, variance explanations, and data review checks for monthly financial reporting

Intercompany Accounting

• Perform intercompany balance matching and reconciliation with counterpart entities.
• Work with global shared service teams and local country finance to resolve mismatches and ensure timely settlement.
• Maintain audit trail and documentation for intercompany agreements and transactions.

Audit & Compliance

• Prepare and provide supporting documentation for statutory, tax, and internal audits.
• Ensure adherence to IFRS / local GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Follow SOPs and contribute to updates and improvements when needed.

Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Coordination

• Use SAP and Excel to analyze data, automate templates, and streamline manual tasks.
• Collaborate with other internal teams to resolve queries and support business activities.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve accuracy and efficiency.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

• University master’s degree in accounting / finance

• Qualified accountant with 3 – 5 years PQE of accounting experience in global multinational companies.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in SAP FI/CO (mandatory).
• Strong command of journal entry posting and balance sheet reconciliation methodology.
• Working knowledge of intercompany processes, sub-ledger to GL flows and period close requirements.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, reconciliation spreadsheets).
