Job Title: 800xA Application Tester Location: Bengaluru Job Type: Full-Time Experience Level: 3+ years Industry: Industrial Automation / Process Control Preferred Qualifications: B.E. / B. Tech in electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering. Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced 800xA Application Tester to join our engineering or quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in 800xA logic development and commissioning, with a solid understanding of AC800M controllers, Control Builder, and various fieldbus protocols. The candidate should be capable of executing test cases, documenting results, and identifying issues in a structured testing environment. Key Responsibilities: Test and validate logic applications developed in ABB 800xA, including AC800M controller configurations using Control Builder. Review and verify alarms, events, logs, and trends in 800xA. Validate graphics and HMI functionality using PG2 graphic builder and related 800xA visualization tools. Execute functional, regression, and integration test cases for 800xA-based systems and applications. Record test results accurately, identify defects, and communicate findings to the development team. Support testing and commissioning activities at customer sites when required. Collaborate with engineering teams to validate BU libraries and process-specific control logic. Ensure 800xA installations function properly in both domain and workgroup environments. Perform basic validation of system configurations including user access, group policy settings, and firewall rules. Assist in troubleshooting basic networking setups involving switches, routers, and communication protocols. Validate and simulate communication over fieldbus protocols such as Profibus, HART, Profinet, and Modbus. Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience with ABB 800xA logic development and on-site commissioning . Strong understanding of Control Builder , AC800M controller configuration and logic testing. Familiarity with 800xA HMI tools , including PG2 Graphic Builder , alarms , events , and trend logs . Good grasp of process control concepts and experience working with BU libraries . Knowledge of 800xA installation and configuration in both domain and workgroup environments. Basic knowledge of Windows Server administration , user/group policies , and firewall rules . Understanding of networking fundamentals , including switch/router configuration . Practical experience with Profibus , HART , Profinet , and Modbus protocols . Strong documentation and reporting skills. Ability to work independently or in a team under minimal supervision.
