Job Description

As a Design Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality primary designs for various aspects of HV substations. Your responsibilities will include: - Preparing Single Line Diagram (SLD), layout, and sections of switchyard, Cable Trench layout, GIS/Control Building General Arrangement drawing, Cable Spread Plan for HV Cable & Tray Layout, Earthing/Lightning layout, and Illumination layout. - Conducting design calculations for bus bar sizing, short circuit force, SAG-Tension, cantilever strength, DSLP, Grounding, Aux Transformer sizing, Battery & Battery Charger sizing, DG set sizing, UPS sizing, illumination, and Load flow study. - Preparing purchase specifications of HV equipment, reviewing suppliers" offers, loading data, and suppliers" drawings for HVAC substations. - Analyzing and commenting on customer specifications, writing clarifications, seeking amendments, and generating BOQ for various components. - Coordinating with clients, civil teams, project management, and other interfaces as agreed with the team leader. - Monitoring engineering delivery progress, escalating issues when required, and ensuring design risk assessments are in place. - Actively participating in standardization of onshore primary design and promoting business improvement programs within the team. You should have: - 8-15 years of design experience within the HV substation business. - Good knowledge of the latest T&D standards and relevant specifications. - Familiarity with health and safety standards, including CDM regulations. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, and E3D. Additional Requirements: - Good IT literacy, especially in Word, Visio, and Excel. - Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills. This role is based at Site (Gurgaon) with opportunities to travel within India and beyond.
