A V P - Finance Operations

Principal Responsibilities
Responsibilities include managing the end to end process of the IFRS 16 Forecast and ensuring outputs accurate and understood across the global RES teams. This will require the role holder to work closely with RES Planning and global stakeholders to ensure robust numbers are presented with clear, articulate analysis underpinning the results. This role is responsible for the supply of monthly global RES data inputs into the IFRS 16 calculation engine and designing and maintaining effective controls to ensure ongoing compliance with the IFRS 16 standards. The role holder will be required to work in conjunction with a specialist IT team to ensure the CLAS tool (used for calculations) provides the correct outcome and continually look to improve system capabilities, including enhancements for reinstatement provision following and MSII. This role is a technical and specialised role - required to navigate the quirks of IFRS 16 to ensure robust financial planning and forecasting and alignment with accounting policy.
Customers / Stakeholders
- Liaise with Senior Business Stakeholders in Infrastrucure Finance and Business Finance and wider teams to ensure support is provided per requirements
- Focuses on their customers/stakeholders/colleagues, to understand, respond to and anticipate Functions changing needs and plan
- Ability to manage trouble shooting/ secondary reviews and understand queries raised by business leaders and determine escalation as necessary
- Influence and escalate key issues in an effective way to ensure timely resolution
Teamwork
- Effective communication with the manager on organisation change and goals
- Achieve efficiency in operations and maintain work-life balance.
- Develop the soft skills and technical competency by putting enrolling into trainings.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
- Adherence to Group policies, audit, controls, and compliance requirements including but not limited to Declaration of secrecy, data protection act, health, safety and security, clear desk policy
- Effectively drive change and achieve cross-training
Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant / CPA / MBA / CFA from a Tier 1 Institute in India or overseas
- Minimum 10 years of experience obtained in a Multi-national / International company either within or outside of India
- Extensive and recent experience in a similar position, preferably within banking industry.
- Prior experience of implementing a managed services model preferably in a finance function
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills and ability to get into the detail to guide, educate and develop their team
- Thrives under pressure and has a proven ability to multi-task
- Ability to collaborate with HSBC staff at all levels
- Extensive experience of Customer relationships, confidence and presence to deal with Customer
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Sound commercial judgment, with a strong understanding of business issues
What additional skills will be good to have
TM1, IFRS 16, Excel and ppt skills and Practical knowledge of visualization tools like Qlik, Tableau
