Job Title: Engineer, Customer Quality/ Incoming Quality/ Inprocess Quality Reports to: Senior Manager, Operations Location: Work from Office, Loni Deokar Indapur, Pune About Company- We are a key global player in woven, knitted, and expanded wire mesh products for industrial applications, Pyrotechnic airbag filters, Exhaust systems components, Customized polyester non-woven for specialised applications, and cleaning products for industrial use. Currently operates in 4 countries, serving customers in 36 countries with sales offices in 7 countries. We have a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in India near Pune. Position Overview: The Customer Quality Engineer is responsible for managing and improving customer satisfaction through effective quality management. This role involves addressing customer complaints, coordinating with internal teams to resolve quality issues, and ensuring products meet customer requirements and standards. Key Roles and Responsibilities: • Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and feedback. • Conduct and ensure final inspection during the shipment. • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances thoroughly to determine root causes. • Conduct root cause analysis and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence. • Review customer specifications, quality agreements, and feedback to ensure compliance. • Support new product launches and customer audits to ensure quality standards are met. • Monitor and report on customer quality metrics and trends • Collaborate with the team internally to establish quality standards and specifications for the final product. • Maintain accurate customer quality records and process documentation. • Implement actions to prevent the recurrence of field quality issues. • Participate in supplier and customer audits and assessments. • Participate in internal and external audits of the QMS. Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in engineering Mechanical/Automobile. • Proven experience 4-7 years as a customer Quality Engineer in the automotive industry. • Basic understanding of automotive standards (e.g., IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA). • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys). • Basic understanding of using quality tools and techniques (e.g., statistical analysis, control charts, capability studies). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. • Ability to work in shifts and effectively in cross-functional teams. • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Minitab, statistical software, ERP systems). Preferred Skills and Experience: • Experience with specific automotive components or systems Work Environment: • Ready to work at the factory location, and it is a 6-day working week • Ready to work in shifts • Manufacturing floor environments. Role & responsibilities 1. Quality Strategy & Planning- Define and implement the Quality Strategy aligned with business goals and customer expectations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce cost of poor quality (COPQ). Set quality KPIs and monitor performance against benchmarks. 2. Rejection Control & First Time Right Drive initiatives to ensure reduction in internal and customer rejections. Monitor process capability (Cp, Cpk) and ensure adherence to specifications. Promote First Time Right approach across departments including melting, molding, and machining. 6. Documentation & Compliance Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / customer-specific requirements. Maintain QMS documentation, SOPs, and calibration records. Coordinate with third-party inspectors, customers, and certification agencies. 7. Customer Communication & Support Act as the key quality contact for customer audits, complaints, and visits. Provide timely and effective resolution to quality-related customer concerns. 8. Technology & Systems Implement quality management systems (ERP/MES/QMS). Leverage data analytics for decision-making and quality improvement. Desired Profile Experience: 15+ years of experience in Quality Assurance in a casting foundry (SG Iron, CI, or Aluminum); minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role.
