Additionally, familiarity with gauge and fixtures design, CMM measurement, statistical process control, product development processes, and good communication skills are essential. Job Title: Dimensional Management Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Dimensional Management Engineer to define measurement systems and tolerance specifications for Body in White components and assemblies. You will play a crucial role in analyzing functional requirements and discussing and aligning tolerance concepts with stakeholders. Your expertise will be instrumental in performing tolerance stack-up studies in 1D, 2D, and 3D, executing tolerance simulations in 3DCS, and ensuring the quality and timeliness of project deliverables. As a DVA Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting Dimensional Variation Analysis studies using 3DCS (v7.8) software package. You will act as a technical mentor for the team of DVA engineers, coordinating planned work with the support of DVA Leads to ensure appropriate throughput and correlation with reference DVA results. Your role will involve utilizing existing DVA vehicle models or generating new local models and confirming Local Alignment Measurement (LAM) tolerances for new vehicle lines. In addition, you will be conducting DVA studies on exterior functionality and system development, specifically focusing on Front, Side, Rear, and Underbody Dimensional Systems. It will be your responsibility to ensure that all inputs, processes, and tolerances are accurately modeled within the DVA model, communicating effectively with key stakeholders within Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams as needed. You will also be required to provide a summary of study results in an agreed format, identifying major contributors and making recommendations for improvements towards the target. Furthermore, you will review and suggest process improvements that could be integrated into the DVA process, with a focus on automation and new systems. Your role will require the ability to work to high quality standards within tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
