As a BIM Engineer at COWI, you will have the opportunity to join our Marine team in Chennai and contribute to the design of Ports, Harbours, Coastal and Marine structures, and Heavy civil infrastructure projects. Your main responsibility will be to produce high-quality 2D CAD works in AutoCAD and 3D BIM Models in Tekla for various marine structures like piled jetties, retaining structures, embankments, steel structures, breakwaters, and revetments. You will work closely with the Head of the Section and collaborate with internal and external design engineers to gather information required for BIM preparation and drawing generation. Your tasks will include clash detection and coordination of 2D/3D models using software like Tekla, Revit, and Navisworks. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing BIM execution plans, performing quality checks at each stage of submission, and tracking project progress. To excel in this role, you should hold a B.Tech in Civil Engineering with 5-10 years of total work experience, including a minimum of 5 years in Civil 2D AutoCAD and Tekla. Proficiency in model preparation, extraction of 2D drawings using Civil 3D and AutoCAD, and experience in using Navisworks and InfraWorks are essential. You should also have a strong understanding of the BIM process, including creating and updating projects in BIM and supporting ongoing designs by updating model contents.
