Role & responsibilities Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated 3D Production Manager to lead our growing 3D production team in Pune. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the 3D team, ensuring the efficient planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality 3D assets and projects, particularly within the architectural visualisation space. You will play a crucial role in managing resources, timelines, budgets, and quality, while fostering a positive team environment and acting as a key liaison with our UK based stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning & Scheduling: Plan and schedule 3D production tasks and milestones weekly/monthly, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and deadlines. Information Dissemination: Ensure all team members have the necessary project briefs, assets, technical specifications, architectural drawings, CAD files, and clear instructions to commence work effectively. Tracking & Reporting: Maintain and meticulously update production progress trackers. Analyse production data and generate regular, clear reports on team performance, project status, risks, and key metrics for stakeholders. Task Allocation & Competency Matching: Allocate production tasks efficiently, ensuring they are assigned to team members with the appropriate skills, experience, and capacity. Time & Schedule Management: Actively monitor task progress against schedules, ensuring team members adhere to allocated times and meet delivery deadlines. Implement corrective actions as needed. Quality Assurance & Control: Uphold and drive high standards of quality across all 3D assets produced. Implement and oversee internal QC feedback loops and review processes within the Pune team. Process Adherence & Optimization: Ensure all staff understand and consistently follow established production pipelines and workflows (our "Pixel process"). Proactively identify bottlenecks and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and quality. Team Leadership & Morale: Supervise, mentor, and lead the Pune 3D production staff. Foster a positive, collaborative, motivated, and high-performance team culture. Address conflicts constructively. Performance Management & Development: Conduct regular performance reviews (including quarterly appraisals). Collaborate with the Talent Manager to identify individual and team training needs, capacity gaps, skill shortages, and support career development pathways. Stakeholder Communication & Liaison: Serve as the primary production point of contact between the Pune team and the Project Director/other stakeholders in Scotland. Ensure clear, timely, and culturally sensitive communication, effectively managing time zone differences. Issue Resolution & Risk Management: Proactively identify potential production risks (schedule, quality, resource, technical) and operational issues; develop and implement effective solutions and mitigation strategies before they impact delivery. Resource Oversight: Provide input on local resource requirements, including software , hardware needs, and potential render farm usage, ensuring the team is adequately equipped. New Staff Onboarding: Oversee the technical and procedural onboarding of new production team members in Pune, ensuring their smooth integration and understanding of processes and quality standards. Preferred candidate profile Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience managing 3D production teams within a professional studio environment. Proven, verifiable track record of successfully delivering complex 3D projects on time and within budget. Strong understanding of the entire 3D production pipeline (e.g., modelling, texturing, lighting, rendering, animation, post-production). Essential proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings (e.g., plans, elevations, sections), coupled with the practical ability to operate CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) to review designs, extract information, or check details. Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and production management software (e.g., Minday.com, Ftrack, Asana, Jira, Trello, or similar). Excellent leadership, team management, and motivational skills. Exceptional communication (written and verbal in English), interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making capabilities. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively. Desirable Skills, Experience & Qualifications: Highly Desirable: Significant experience managing 3D production teams specifically within the Architectural Visualisation (ArchViz) industry. Experience in related industries such as Visual Effects (VFX), Games, Animation, or Product Visualisation will also be considered. Experience working within a multi-site, international company structure, particularly collaborating between India and UK/European teams. Formal Education: A Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field such as Media Production, Animation/VFX Production, Game Production, Project Management, Business Management, Architecture, or similar is advantageous. Professional Certifications: Recognised project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications (CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP etc.) are a strong plus. Technical familiarity with industry-standard software (e.g., 3ds Max, Blender, Unreal Engine, Substance Suite, Adobe Creative Suite). Experience in implementing or refining production workflows and pipelines. Demonstrable training or expertise in production management software (e.g., Monday.com, ShotGrid, Ftrack).
