Job Title: Designer Mechanical - DOP Level: Works under guidance Job description: Designer 1 is responsible for modifying an existing design as per the instruction, under the supervision of an engineer or site leader Focus: Learning role; focus is on less complex projects; assist with more complex projects; assist with supporting other teams General responsibilities: Get oriented to the engineering standards to be followed, engineering best practices of the division and any other key aspects to be ensured Provide support for simple design requirements Prepare layout, assembly, and proposal drawings Selection of components and materials Assist in evaluation of designs, fit and function and perform required engineering changes Prepare BOM, assembly drawings/schematics using CAD Keep supervisor informed of progress on assigned tasks Maintain project file Other duties as assigned Required skills: Ability to understand the requirements clearly, seek clarifications where required before starting a task so as to avoid rework Working knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical drawings and models Knowledge on practical application of engineering; knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance Understanding of machine shop, assembly practice; Imperial and Metric units Hands on working knowledge of CAD software and the modules Ability to work on 3D Assemblies, perform stack-up analysis and assign GD&T Ability to work in a cross-functional team Attention to details Good verbal & written communication, and interpersonal skills Logical and reasoning abilities Supervisory duties: None Travel: None What must be consistently demonstrated to move to next level: Ability to deliver simple design requirements with very minimal iterations, provide ideas/concepts for medium, complex design requirements Ability to point out errors or gaps in inputs Continuous learning from day-to-day interactions and avoiding repeated errors Good proficiency in using CAD tools, CAD best practices, best practices of manufacturing methods for optimized design, drawing Good knowledge of BW Divisions equipment and its application Proven track record of first-time right deliverables (75%) Ability to flex tasks as per the directions of the supervisor Education: Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience: Diploma 3 to 4 years / Degree 2 to 4 years Contact me @ 7358951352 .
