Job Description: Sous Chef Location: Kaza Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, India Position: Sous Chef Reports To: Restaurant Manager/Owner Job Type: Full-Time Job Overview: We are looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kitchen operations, excellent culinary skills, and leadership abilities. As the Sous Chef, you will work to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen, oversee food preparation, and ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Key Responsibilities: Assist in planning, preparing, and executing the restaurant's menu. Supervise kitchen staff and manage daily kitchen operations. Ensure proper food storage and inventory management to maintain food quality and minimize waste. Oversee food preparation to maintain consistent quality and presentation. Monitor and ensure all food safety and cleanliness standards are adhered to according to local regulations. Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring skill development and team performance. Help with menu creation, costing, and implementing new culinary trends and dishes. Assist with ordering supplies and managing kitchen inventory. Ensure proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas. Assist in ensuring all hygiene and health safety standards are followed. Take responsibility for the kitchen. Collaborate with other departments such as front-of-house staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or relevant role in a fine dining or hotel kitchen. In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation. Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. Strong leadership and team management skills. Creativity and passion for cooking. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Certification from a recognized culinary institution or equivalent experience. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Skills: Experience in a multi-cuisine kitchen. Knowledge of Indian, continental, or regional cuisines. Familiarity with kitchen management software and systems. Ability to speak and understand English. Benefits: Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
