Company Description At Zensomy, a start-up based out of Chennai, India, we develop Physical AI that can automate mobile machines. The cutting edge autonomy stack provides core intelligence for machines, enabling them to operate autonomously with minimal human intervention. Our technology is based on a mixture of classical algorithms and latest deep learning techniques such as transformer models, enabling precise environment modelling, planning and control for autonomous operations. Our solutions enable high level of automation across multiple sectors like agriculture, mining, construction and ports. Intern - Deep Learning based Sensor Fusion Are you passionate about robotics, autonomous systems, and cutting-edge software engineering? Join our team as a Intern - Deep Learning based Sensor Fusion , where you’ll contribute to developing next-generation autonomy platforms for mobile machines. About the role This is a 6-month paid internship offering a stipend and the opportunity to work on impactful, real-world AI deployment challenges. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to develop, test, and optimize components for real-time and safety-critical systems used in robotics and autonomous machines. You’ll gain hands-on experience working across the software stack — from embedded systems to perception and sensor fusion. What you'll do Work alongside experienced engineers on projects involving embedded software, autonomous driving, and robotics . Handle highly complex data from lidar, camera and radar sensors. Develop, train, and optimize deep learning models for tasks such as perception , object detection , and sensor fusion . Deep-dive into model architecture and optimization (quantization, pruning and distillation). Collaborate with engineers to integrate models into C++/Python-based software stacks running on ROS/ROS2 or similar frameworks. Deploy and benchmark models on embedded and real-time systems , using tools like TensorRT , ONNX Runtime , or OpenVINO . Work within simulation environments (e.g., IsaacSim , CARLA , AWSIM ) to test and validate performance before deployment. Contribute to robust CI/CD pipelines , leveraging Docker , Git , and modern build systems for automated testing and deployment. Who you are Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science , Electrical/Computer Engineering , Robotics , or a related field. Strong foundation in deep learning , with experience using PyTorch or TensorFlow . Familiar with C++ (14/17/20) and Python , and comfortable working close to the hardware/software interface. Previous hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: Computer vision, Multi-sensor fusion, Embedded AI deployment (e.g., Jetson or ARM-based systems), Robotics or autonomous systems. Working knowledge of Docker , Git , and CI/CD pipelines for reproducible AI workflows. Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Why join us You’ll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, learn from industry experts, and make tangible contributions to the future of autonomy. This internship is ideal for students looking to bridge academic knowledge with practical, real-world engineering experience.
