The Role: Head of Financial Intelligence & Strategy We are seeking a dynamic and analytically strong leader to take charge of Zenalyst’s financial domain intelligence. In this role, you will anchor the platform’s strategic direction by defining core financial logic, ensuring accuracy and relevance of financial models, and collaborating with product and tech teams to convert those insights into scalable tools. While your core strength lies in finance, you’ll also play a pivotal role in shaping the product from a domain perspective—bringing deep financial understanding into user workflows, reporting logic, and automation design. Key Responsibilities Define, validate, and continuously enhance the financial logic and domain capabilities embedded in the Zenalyst platform. Serve as the primary subject matter expert for FP&A, FDD, investor reporting, and finance-led decision systems. Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure product features align with real-world financial practices and investor expectations. Translate evolving CFO/VC/PE workflows into structured product requirements. Conduct deep user research, stakeholder interviews, and workflow mapping. Maintain a strong pulse on the latest financial trends, due diligence practices, and automation opportunities. Support internal teams on key financial storytelling, client onboarding, and knowledge documentation. Coordinate with the AI engineer to train the system on finance domain. What We’re Looking For Education: CA or IIT/IIM/ISB or global top-tier institution preferred. Experience: Energetic finance expert who thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and embraces rapid change with agility. Proven exposure to financial due diligence, performance analysis, and defining KPIs that drive strategic business insights. Our products reduce analysis time from weeks to hours, deliver audit-grade insights, and create institutional-grade intelligence for decision makers. Role Overview We are looking for a Functional Expert in Financial Due Diligence (FDD) and Portfolio Intelligence who will serve as the domain anchor for our product teams. This role will translate real-world consulting and investment use cases into product workflows, validate financial logic, and ensure outputs are aligned with industry standards (Ind AS, IFRS, GAAP, ILPA, SEBI). The candidate will work closely with product managers, developers, and data scientists to design and validate AI-powered features for FDD and portfolio monitoring modules. Key Responsibilities 1. Product Design & Functional Inputs * Define detailed use cases for FDD (historical financial review, quality of earnings, working capital analysis, debt & liabilities, tax compliance, red flag analysis). * Define portfolio monitoring requirements (fund setup, company onboarding, KPI library, benchmarking, automated alerts, LP reporting). * Work with product and tech teams to translate functional requirements into user stories and workflows . * Validate that product outputs mirror consulting-grade deliverables (FDD reports, portfolio dashboards). 2. Domain Expertise * Bring hands-on experience from consulting (Big4, CA firm, VC/PE fund, or boutique advisory). * Ensure compliance with accounting/audit standards (Ind AS, IFRS, GAAP) and fund reporting standards (ILPA, SEBI, etc.). * Develop frameworks for red flag detection, KPI thresholds, and benchmarking models . 3. Collaboration & Training * Act as the bridge between business users and tech team. * Train developers on financial/accounting concepts to ensure accuracy of automation. * Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and validate that features meet functional expectations. 4. Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement * Assist in preparing functional documentation, SOPs, and product BRDs. * Support client-facing teams in explaining product functionalities to pilot clients. * Collect client feedback and feed into product roadmap. Qualifications & Experience * Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA (Finance), or equivalent professional degree. * 5–10 years experience in: * Financial Due Diligence (Big 4, CA firms, boutique advisory), and/or * Portfolio monitoring (VC/PE fund, investment banking, corporate FP\&A). * Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting standards, and investment reporting frameworks. * Exposure to tools like Excel-based FDD models, BI dashboards, and data rooms. * Experience in working with *tech-enabled consulting tools* preferred. Skills Required * Deep knowledge of FDD processes (EBITDA adjustments, working capital normalization, debt validation, tax assessments). * Familiarity with portfolio intelligence KPIs – revenue growth, runway, CAC, churn, LTV, ESG metrics. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to translate business requirements into system workflows. * Excellent communication and documentation skills. * Collaborative mindset to work with product, dev, and client teams.
