Role & responsibilities Location : Remote or Hybrid (Perth preferred) Employment Type : Permanent, Full Time Industry : Healthcare Technology We are hiring an experienced Full Stack Developer with a strong focus on back-end development to join our high-performing team. This is an opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing platform that is transforming how people access healthcare. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer, CTO and other cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure systems and integrate real-time technologies that improve patient outcomes. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in backend systems who also understands how to collaborate across front-end development environments, particularly those using React Native and WebRTC. Key Responsibilities Design, build and maintain secure, scalable back-end services using Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript Create and manage efficient RESTful APIs integrated with PostgreSQL databases using Prisma Support real-time communication infrastructure using WebRTC Collaborate on mobile and web features using React Native and Ionic Capacitor to ensure seamless integration with backend systems Champion best practices for security, data protection and system resilience Participate in architectural reviews and ensure consistent code quality and documentation Work with cloud-based deployment and hosting solutions, preferably AWS Contribute to improving system scalability, maintainability and responsiveness Preferred candidate profile Required Skills and Experience At least 7 years of professional software development experience with a clear emphasis on backend development Strong skills in: Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript SQL, PostgreSQL and Prisma REST API architecture and implementation Working knowledge of: ReactJS, React Native and Ionic Capacitor WebRTC-based communication and media handling Strong foundation in object-oriented programming and software engineering principles Experience with cloud environments and server deployment practices (AWS preferred) Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in distributed teams A proactive mindset and the ability to deliver in fast-paced, evolving environments Desirable Skills Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source control (e.g. Git) Familiarity with agile development and project management tools Understanding of Redux for state management in frontend applications Exposure to privacy and compliance standards, particularly in healthcare Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline is preferred Equivalent professional experience with a strong project portfolio will also be considered What We Offer A chance to shape the future of healthcare delivery through innovative technology Work with passionate leaders and engineers focused on real-world outcomes Autonomy, flexibility and opportunities to contribute meaningfully from day one Competitive salary and career progression in a high-growth environment
