Location Guwahati, India Employment Type Full time Location Type On-site Department Project Delivery Overview This position revolves around Quality Inspections, Progress Capture and Setting Out Support for construction installations (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing and Civil, Structural & Architectural disciplines), using XYZ's Augmented Reality technology, the ATOM. You must be able to speak English to a professional / fluent level as we communicate in English internally. Ideally, you will have already had some experience/training in how to use a total station either through your work experience or University. You will have c. 1 year - 5 years experience in Construction You will have good knowledge of technology / computer systems such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc). If you have experience with BIM or 3D Construction Software such as Revit that is a bonus, and if you have a personal interest in AR/VR etc, even better! Field Engineer Opportunity At XYZ, you'll be utilising Augmented Reality to highlight and eliminate errors that would otherwise lead to costly and time-consuming rework. You'll be working on-site each day, helping to coordinate the project by providing regular updates of potential clashes/problems with the models and what has been, or is to be, physically installed. The role revolves around Setting Out, Quality Inspections and Progress Capture for construction installations across all disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing, and Civils and Structures). Key Responsibilities Conduct daily site inspections using the Atom (Augmented Reality headset) to ensure works are installed/being installed correctly, as per the BIM Model. Produce reports and subsequent deliverables based on the inspections from that day. Attend meetings to coordinate with contractors to plan daily activities. Process and review all acquired data to ensure it is accurate and reliable. Report to the Senior FAE and/or Field Operations Manager to maintain an efficient workflow, ensuring all requested inspections are conducted within the specified time frame. Work with contractors to devise a weekly lookahead of inspections in line with the master construction programme to de-risk incorrect installation from taking place in the field. When required, use a Total Station, help to establish and maintain our primary control network on site for the longevity of the project, ensuring the accuracy of the holograms positioning. Field / Surveying Engineer (Using Augmented Reality) As an Engineer / Surveyor at XYZ, you'll be wearing the Atom and using it to eliminate construction and design errors on site, which would otherwise lead to costly and time-consuming rework. You'll visualise the design models in holograms through the visor, and provide regular updates of potential clashes/errors in what has been, or is to be, installed by verifying what you're seeing in front of you. Key Responsibilities Conducting daily site inspections using the Atom (Augmented Reality headset) to ensure works are installed/being installed correctly, as per the BIM Model. Using a total station to set / traverse control points Client communication and reporting Producing reports based on the inspections from that day. Attending meetings to coordinate with contractors to plan daily activities. Processing and reviewing all acquired data to ensure it is accurate and reliable. Reporting to the Field Operations Manager, maintaining an efficient workflow and ensuring all requested inspections are conducted within the specified time frame. Working with the Contractor to devise a weekly lookahead of inspections in line with the master construction programme in order to de-risk incorrect installation from taking place in the field.
