Key Responsibilities A. In-Process & Final Quality Control Inspect moulded plastic parts at different stages (start-up, in-process, final) to ensure compliance with specifications. Check parameters like shrinkage, warpage, sink marks, flash, short shots, colour variation, burn marks, bubbles, weld lines, etc. Ensure raw material (granules, masterbatch, additives) meets required quality standards. Approve initial samples and first-off parts for production runs. B. Documentation & Compliance Maintain inspection reports, rejection logs, calibration records of QC instruments. Prepare and update Quality Plans, SOPs, Work Instructions. Support ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or customer audits. Ensure proper labelling and segregation of OK, Rejected, and Rework material. C. Process & Defect Analysis Conduct root cause analysis for defects like dimensional variation, surface defects, or functional issues. Work with production to optimize process parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time, cooling). Suggest preventive measures to reduce scrap, rework, and rejection. D. Team Leadership & Training Supervise QC inspectors and checkers on the shop floor. Train operators on defect identification, handling moulds, and quality awareness. Enforce discipline, safety, and 5S practices in quality and production areas. E. Customer & Cross-Functional Coordination Handle customer complaints related to product quality and coordinate corrective action. Support new product development trials from a quality perspective. Liaise with production, maintenance, and design teams to ensure moulds and machines produce defect-free parts. 4. Skills & Competencies Knowledge of plastic moulding processes (Injection, Blow). Understanding of plastic materials (PP, ABS, HDPE, PVC, Nylon, etc.). Hands-on with measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometre, Height Gauge, Profile Projector, CMM). Problem-solving using RCA, CAPA, 7 QC Tools. Good communication, documentation, and leadership skills. 5. Education & Experience Qualification: B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Plastic / Polymer Engineering. Experience: 3–6 years in Plastic Moulding Quality Control/Assurance (SME or Tier-2 preferred). Exposure to packaging, FMCG, or plastic components is an advantage Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
