Position Overview We are looking for a skilled and experienced Fitter who can independently assemble, align, and commission Vertical Form Fill & Seal (VFFS) packaging machines. The candidate should have strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on assembly experience, and the confidence to conduct machine trials and demonstrations in front of customers. Key Responsibilities 1. Machine Assembly Assemble complete VFFS packaging machines including frames, sealing systems, pneumatic systems, forming collars, and product dosing units. Fit and align mechanical components such as shafts, bearings, gears, belts, chains, and linkages. Install and route pneumatic pipes, sensors, and basic electrical elements (with guidance from the electrical team). Ensure all assemblies meet drawing specifications, tolerances, and safety standards. 2. Machine Setting & Adjustment Set the machine for correct film tracking, pouch length, sealing temperature, and alignment. Adjust forming collar, vertical/horizontal sealing jaws, pulling belts, and cutting mechanisms. Perform trial runs with product or dummy material to verify smooth operation. Troubleshoot mechanical problems such as misalignment, uneven sealing, tracking issues, vibration, etc. 3. Machine Trials & Customer Handling Conduct full machine trials for customers at the factory. Clearly explain machine operations, settings, and basic troubleshooting to customers. Coordinate with QC to ensure machines meet performance parameters before dispatch. Provide on-site machine installation and commissioning support when required (optional). 4. Documentation & Reporting Maintain assembly checklists and trial reports. Record issues found during assembly and coordinate with design/production for improvements. Required Skills & Qualifications ITI / Diploma in Fitter, Mechanical, or related trades. 3–7 years of experience in assembly of packaging machinery (VFFS, FFS, Multi-track, Pouch Packing). Strong understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics, and alignment. Ability to read mechanical drawings and follow SOPs. Confidence and communication skills to conduct customer trials. Problem-solving approach and ability to work independently. Preferred Additional Skills Experience with auger fillers / cup fillers / weigh fillers. Ability to work with precision tools like dial gauges, vernier calipers, torque wrenches. Basic knowledge of electrical and PLC interfaces (not mandatory).
