About XBE XBE builds business-operations software for heavy materials, logistics, and construction companies that should be generating far more profit than they do today. Through BCMI, our cloud platform for concrete and heavy-materials producers, we power real-time dispatch, logistics, and analytics that connect plants, drivers, and contractors across the field. We’re a fully remote, high-trust, high-agency team. Everyone takes ownership, communicates proactively, and drives outcomes—because autonomy and accountability are how we build great software and lasting customer impact. Role Overview We’re looking for an experienced PHP Backend Developer to evolve XBE/BCMI’s core platform powering dispatch, e-ticketing, logistics, and analytics across heavy logistics. You’ll build APIs, data models, and backend services that connect producers, drivers, and contractors in real time—shipping robust, production-grade systems with measurable business impact. Work Hours: Flexible hours with required overlap from 2 PM – 10 PM IST (Central Europe time) Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain backend services in PHP for mission-critical workflows. Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and integrations (GPS, batching, CRM/ERP). Model and query complex operational data using MySQL or similar RDBMS. Contribute to CI/CD, Docker deployments, and production observability. Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and documentation. Own features end-to-end: design → deploy → monitor → iterate. Proactively simplify systems and improve performance, reliability, and developer experience. Required Qualifications 4+ years of PHP backend development. 2+ years with MySQL (or similar RDBMS) in production. Strong grasp of software fundamentals, OO design, and data modeling. Workable understanding of Linux, CI/CD, and Docker. Excellent written and verbal English (B2+). Proven ability to make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision. Enthusiastic about technology, best practices, and continuous learning. How You Work (What Great Looks Like Here) Systems thinking: You’ve built or supported high-availability or real-time systems; you understand queues, event-driven patterns, caching, and data consistency trade-offs. Product empathy: You translate dispatcher/driver workflows into reliable backend logic and care about latency and uptime in the field. API discipline: You design clean, versioned, secure APIs and handle third-party integrations and sync at scale (auth basics: JWT/OAuth). Reliability mindset: You instrument, monitor, debug, and own your code in production—rollbacks and observability are second nature. Security first: You apply secure coding practices (OWASP basics, input validation, least privilege, data privacy). High agency: You operate autonomously in a remote, async environment—proactively clarifying goals, surfacing risks, and unblocking yourself. Nice to Have AWS, API security, or data pipeline optimization experience. Familiarity with construction, logistics, or heavy materials domains. Exposure to microservices, event-driven architectures, or container orchestration. Interest in AI-assisted analytics or operational automation. What We Offer A high-agency environment where initiative and ownership are expected and rewarded. Flexible work timings but requiring overlap with Central Europe timezone (2 PM – 10 PM IST). Competitive compensation and transparent growth paths. The chance to build software that powers real-world construction and logistics operations. A collaborative, feedback-driven culture focused on outcomes over bureaucracy. Ready to own complex systems and build high-impact software? Apply directly via LinkedIn Easy Apply
