Woodworking/Modular Furniture Estimator

As a Woodworking/Cabinet Maker Estimator at FURNIGENCE LLP, you will play a crucial role in the preproduction phase by accurately estimating the costs associated with woodworking and cabinetry projects. Your expertise in materials, labor, and project management will contribute to the overall success and profitability of our projects. This position requires a strong understanding of woodworking techniques, materials, and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Project Evaluation: Assess project requirements, including design specifications, materials needed, and labor hours.
• Cost Estimation: Utilize your expertise to provide accurate and detailed cost estimates for woodworking and cabinetry projects, considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
• Vendor and Material Management: Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing for materials. Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
• Blueprint Analysis: Review and interpret architectural drawings and project blueprints to understand project scope and requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the design and production teams to ensure that cost estimates align with project goals and client expectations.
• Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, providing regular updates on cost variations and potential risks.
• Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality, offering alternative materials or construction methods when appropriate.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate and organized documentation related to cost estimates, contracts, and vendor agreements.
• Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new materials to make informed decisions and maintain competitiveness.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Woodworking/Cabinet Maker Estimator, with a strong background in woodworking and cabinetry.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in reading blueprints, using estimating software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both internal teams and clients.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well within a team environment.
