In this role, you will be a key part of supporting the APAC region, with a primary focus on the Indian market This is a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on Wises mission and assist APAC region, further developing your skills as a people leader Your Mission As part of our People Operations team, your vision is to create fast, convenient, transparent Wiser support, powered by smart tech and human advice Youll be responsible for setting up and leading our HR Operations in India, ensuring a comprehensive People service and experience for our Wisers in this market Key Responsibilities Act as an HR Generalist: Until the team in India scales, you will act as an HR Generalist, managing end-to-end People operations This includes overseeing the entire Wiser lifecycle from onboarding to off-boarding, and handling queries from our Wisers and Leads Lead, Coach, and Up-skill: Lead, coach, and develop the team responsible for providing a comprehensive People service to our Wisers based in India Drive People Operations Evolution: Play a key role in driving the People Operations evolution by leading projects locally and contributing globally, all focused on enhancing the Wiser experience and achieving operational excellence Build Shared Services: Contribute to the development of Wises shared services by identifying tasks that can be centralized and ensuring a smooth transition Set Development Goals: Establish aspirational development goals and performance measurement KPIs/OKRs for the team to foster continual growth and succession planning Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with diverse labor, immigration, and financial regulations across multiple markets, updating processes to maintain adherence to compliance needs Collaborate Globally: Partner with the global team and wider People tribe to recommend new approaches and changes in policy and procedures, co-creating solutions with a global and mass-customization outlook Maximize Qualifications About You: Are an Indian Citizen and based in Hyderabad Strong HR Experience: Specialize in HR operations within a fast-paced environment At least 5-7 years of experience in a Shared Service Center and at least 4 years experience leading a team Experienced Leader: Comfortable leading, developing, and optimizing a team, and being an evangelist of the ?working smartprinciple Customer-Driven: Always thinking about how to automate and improve the Wiser experience while working smarter, not harder Data-Driven: High proficiency in data tools and visualization, using data, facts, and insights to inform your approach Project Manager: Solutions-focused, able to prioritize problems and initiatives with the most measurable business impact Empathetic Communicator: Able to communicate effectively with diverse people both in person and in writing Initiative: Think creatively and customize your outlook, making informed, evidence-based, and data-driven decisions Resilient Heres how youll be contributing to the team: Lead the Engineering Team that develops Wises products that will be used by Wises Customers to service the Indian market Disrupt the cross-border industry in India that is hugely dominated by Banks Design onboarding and money movement solutions tailored to India markets by leveraging local KYC stack and payment ecosystem in India Lead the development of robust systems to seamlessly onboard customers without delays, while being compliant to local regulations Lead the development of scalable money movement systems that bring speed and convenience of domestic payment processing to cross border payments Be responsible for the team that builds and maintains automations and tooling to process customer payments and data in a scalable and cost-efficient way Utilise the observability stack and analytics to identify gaps, and unlock new opportunities for growth and operational excellence Collaborate with various stakeholders throughout Wise, plan roadmaps and vision of India Product with key stakeholders, and work through challenges to determine scope and realistic delivery Be responsible for running the engineering rituals of the team to be agile in product development Be responsible for the growth and development of engineers in the team through constructive feedback, calibration and performance evaluation process Qualifications A bit about you! You have solid Java 17 plus knowledge and experience with Spring framework You have experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation and schema design You approach challenges with a strong product mindset, prioritise customer needs and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points You have experience hiring and mentoring engineers and setting them up for success You have led the design and development of complex engineering solutions and understand their broader impact on business outcomes You have excellent communication skills and can articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audiences You provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers with all levels of experience and seniority You have experience leading and managing a team of engineers and are familiar with the performance evaluation process, 360 feedback methodologies and handling difficult situations with regards to performance You show strong ownership and accountability Learn to operate beyond technical scope alone and be an enabler for the extended team ?but dont worry we dont expect you to know everything!
