Job Title: Backend Lead (Laravel) Location: [Onsite] Employment Type: Full-time Experience Level: 5+ Years (2+ years Lead) About the Role We are looking for a proactive and experienced Backend Lead to oversee the development and maintenance of a high-availability Laravel-based fintech web application . The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in PHP (Laravel) , server management (Linux, AWS) , and proven leadership experience . You will be responsible for leading a team of developers, managing backend architecture, ensuring application uptime, and maintaining a secure and scalable infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage end-to-end backend development of the Laravel-based fintech platform. Supervise and guide developers—assign tasks, conduct code reviews , and ensure on-time delivery . Oversee and maintain server infrastructure , including deployments, monitoring, backups, scaling, and security. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, DevOps, and Support teams to achieve project objectives. Manage incident response , troubleshoot performance issues, and ensure consistent application uptime . Enforce coding standards , performance optimization , and compliance with security best practices . Design and automate deployment workflows using CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins). Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for architecture, workflows, and infrastructure setup. Requirements 5+ years of experience in backend development with PHP & Laravel . 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership or team lead role. Strong hands-on experience with Linux server administration (Ubuntu/CentOS). Proven expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, DigitalOcean, or similar. Proficient in managing MySQL , Redis , NGINX , and Apache . Solid understanding of Git , CI/CD pipelines , and automated testing frameworks . Deep knowledge of security best practices , especially in fintech or high-compliance environments . Excellent communication , problem-solving , and team management abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with payment gateways , financial APIs , or banking integrations . Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) . Knowledge of advanced Laravel packages such as Passport, Sanctum, Horizon, or Telescope. Exposure to compliance frameworks like PCI-DSS or equivalent security standards.
