Welder/Fabricator

Job Summary:

We are seeking skilled Welders and Fabricators with experience in ship construction and structural steelwork. The ideal candidates will have a solid background in reading technical drawings, executing high-quality welds, and fabricating ship components as per marine standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Welders:

• Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on structural components of ships.
• Conduct pre-weld preparation and post-weld clean-up.
• Perform welding repairs as required during ship fitting or testing.

Fabricators:

• Cut, shape, and assemble metal parts from drawings and templates.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and ship layout plans.
• Fit and tack structural components such as bulkheads, frames, stiffeners, and decks.
• Ensure alignment and dimensional accuracy during assembly.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in marine or heavy steel fabrication and welding.
• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
• Familiar with shipbuilding materials and marine welding techniques.
• Certification in welding (preferred: 6G or equivalent).
• Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
• Safety-conscious with knowledge of shipyard safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with classification society inspections.
• Knowledge of hot work procedures on ships.
• Familiarity with modular ship construction practices.

Work Conditions:

• Onsite work at shipyard or drydock.
• May involve shift work, overtime, and weekend duties.
• Use of PPE is mandatory.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹36,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
