Join us in our mission to create dignied livelihoods and prevent ocean plastic by visiting www.plasticsforchange.org Job Title Associate/Sr. Associate- Sourcing & Compliance Reports To Lead/Sr.Lead- Supply Partner Relationship Locations Kolkata & Chennai Job Description This is a full-time role for an Associate/Sr. Associate- Sourcing & Compliance at Plastics For Change located in Kolkata, the Associate/Sr. Associate will closely collaborate with job work baler, scrap shops and Supply Partner Relationship Manager to ensure plastics sourcing and statutory compliance at the Supply Partner (job work baler) level. The key focus areas of the Associate/Sr. Associate-Sourcing & Compliance would be: Sourcing & Compliance: Identifying, networking, mobilising and engaging key plastics suppliers across the informal sector such as Home Based Workers (HBW), Waste Collectors (WC), Itinerant Buyers (IB), Van Units (VU), Dry Waste Collection Centre (DWCC), Waste Pickers Community Leaders, Scrap Shops (SS), Wholesaler etc. to ethically source required plastics. Supporting the above stakeholders to transform from the informal to the formal sector. Enrolling and managing the above stakeholders on the PFC technology platform to do buy-sell transactions. Building trust with the above stakeholders and maintaining strong working relationships to ensure consistent plastic sourcing. Increasing plastic sourcing and supply from the above stakeholders by ensuring ethical sourcing and fair trade standards. Facilitating management and client visits with the above stakeholders. Implementing, managing and overseeing fair trade standards and statutory compliance at the Supply Partner (Job Work Baler) level. Achieve WFTO, OBP and any other certication standards at the Supply Partner (Job Work Baler) level as required by PFC. Passing internal and external audits. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve the above indicators. Work towards implementing the industry's best practices and designing methodologies, tools and SoPs that contribute towards smooth compliance management. Capaciy Building: Conducting one-to-one capacity building to strengthen the above stakeholders' working efciency w.r.t. PFC Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), fair trade practices and various policies. Conducting one-to-one CRM (mobile technology) training for the above stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability w.r.t. data management. Strengthening and developing the above stakeholders on various social/govt requirements, statutory compliances and policies with the help of collaborative resources. Reporting & Documenaion: Maintaining various due diligence, compliance and other required documentation at the above stakeholder level, managing, monitoring and reviewing it periodically. Ensuring timely, concise and accurate reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis on prescribed formats. Ensuring timely, concise and accurate CRM updates and also ensuring the above stakeholders are updating it regularly. General Responsibiliies: Ensure professionalism at all times and demonstrate exemplary prioritisation of workload skills. Ensure that the PFC policies, SOPs and protocols are being adhered to at all levels of the company. Ensure strict adherence to data condentiality and security. Willingness to travel frequently across the supply chain, sometimes at short notice, including other places as per the need of the project or company. Work closely with the PFC team and Partners. Skills Required Good interpersonal and negotiation skills and ability to work in the eld alone. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a passion for sustainability and fair trade business practices. Open to new challenges. Good data management, documentation and reporting skills. Good computer skills MS Ofce and Working on CRM. Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks. Eye for detail. Able to learn new systems, methods, processes and procedures. Able to meet deadlines and produce quality output. Should be proactive, and self-motivated and have the ability to deliver and measure results individually on time. Humility, honesty, transparency, integrity and ability to maintain condentiality. Experience and Qualications Required Graduate with 3 + years of eldwork experience in the informal sector/direct eld sales. 1 to 2 years of experience in the eld of Compliance will be an added advantage. Past Experience working in the elds of Urban or Rural Development, Environment, Community Relations / Interventions / Engagement, Plastic Recycling, and Waste Management will be helpful. Strong understanding of social and environmental concepts, and fair trade and compliance management. Experience in working in a start-up/scale-up and fast-paced environment is preferred. Experience in fair trade or fair labour practices is a plus. Fluency in the Local language (read, write and speak), English (read, write and speak) and Hindi (read and speak) are preferred. Responsibilities Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of waste management, renewable energy, and Eco Village projects, ensuring alignment with CSR objectives. Field Operations: Conduct extensive fieldwork, including site assessments, community interactions, and project implementation in various locations. Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, educating and supporting them in bio-composting and sustainable agricultural practices. Collect and analyze data related to project activities, outcomes, and community impact, preparing comprehensive reports for stakeholders. Organize and conduct training sessions and workshops for community members and project staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in bio-composting and sustainability. Implement and promote sustainable practices within the Eco Village, focusing on waste recycling, bio-composting, and other environmental initiatives. Collaborate with local authorities, communities, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and community participation. Mandatory Qualification and Experience: Bachelor s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Waste Management, Sustainability, or related fields. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working on urban waste management, circular economy solutions, or sustainability projects. Experience collaborating with local government authorities, corporate CSR teams, and community groups. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement. Analytical thinking with the ability to execute solution-oriented actions. Proficiency in proposal writing, documentation, and reporting.
