Role Description This is a contract, remote role for a Freelance AR Developer specializing in Unity. Build and ship mobile AR features : markerless/object tracking, plane/mesh, depth & occlusion, anchors, hit-testing. Integrate OpenCV (e.g., image/object detection, segmentation) to augment AR interactions. Optimize for real-time performance (frame time, memory, GC, thermal) across iOS/Android. Own debugging & release pipelines (Xcode, Gradle, TestFlight/internal testing), write concise tech notes. Must-have skills 3+ years hands-on AR dev; Unity (AR Foundation 4/5), ARCore & ARKit features in production apps. Proven object tracking experience (image/object databases, runtime updates) and OpenCV integration. Strong profiling & optimization on mobile (Unity Profiler, Xcode Instruments, Android Profiler). Git, CI basics, modular code, excellent troubleshooting. Nice to have Shader Graph/HLSL for lightweight VFX/occlusion tricks; Sentis/Barracuda or on-device ML; Niantic Lightship . Experience shipping to App Store/Play ; automated build/test
