As the Vice President of Solution Architect at Synchrony, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing cutting-edge technology solutions that redefine industry standards. Your primary responsibilities will include: - Motivating, influencing, and leading a team of Engineers, Dev Lead, Tech Lead, and SREs. - Architecting applications using Synchrony standards such as PCF, AWS, J2EE, Spring Java, and React. - Implementing new technologies and assisting developers in migrating to these technologies. - Coaching and empowering team members to work efficiently and deliver effectively. - Designing and owning Common Code Modules, reviewing and approving them through a formal approval process. - Being a Java/Solution Architect and championing the Community of Practice (CoP) while encouraging team members to contribute to the CoP. - Working in an Agile Development & Scaled Agile Framework environment. - Managing and automating DevOps processes hands-on. - Influencing and collaborating to deliver technical solutions with high quality, performance, and sound design principles. - Mentoring Tech leads (AVPs) to lead/build successful teams. - Hiring and retaining talent. - Performing other duties and/or special projects as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with modern application development experience, or 10+ years of experience in Technology. In lieu of a degree, 12+ years of experience is required. - 6+ years of experience in Software Architecture and Development using Java, Spring, and modern front-end frameworks like React. - Strong expertise in building widgets hosted internally or consumed by third-party applications. - Experience in developing microservices with 12-factor app methodology. - Proven experience in designing and building applications from scratch with hands-on involvement across all phases of the software development life cycle. - Experience in Distributed Architecture with proficiency in Monitoring and Incident Management tools like Splunk and New Relic. - Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework and familiarity with tools like JIRA. - Experience with CICD Pipeline, Process, and Tools. - Strong experience in writing unit and integration tests using frameworks like Junit, Mockito, and Spring Test. - Familiarity with designing applications using SOLID principles, Java, and microservice design patterns with business acumen. - Working knowledge of Cloud Platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry. - Familiarity with Behavior Driven Development and API Test Automation. - Working knowledge in RDBMS. - Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical peers. - Ability to troubleshoot systems, identify root causes, and propose resolution options using structured problem-solving. - Passion for learning and understanding diversified business domains and technologies. - Quick learner of new technologies and frameworks. Eligibility Criteria: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with modern application development experience, or 10+ years of experience in Technology. Work Timings: 2 PM - 11 PM IST This role at Synchrony offers Enhanced Flexibility and Choice, requiring availability between 06:00 AM Eastern Time and 11:30 AM Eastern Time for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours are flexible for the employee to choose, with occasional exceptions due to business needs.
