Role Description: We are seeking a remote Software Engineer Intern to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of core back-end systems. In this internship, you will work on real production features, including API design and service development, database models, and integrations. The internship places a strong emphasis on backend development, testing, and scalable design patterns. You will collaborate with product and engineering peers and receive mentorship from experienced engineers. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain back-end services and REST/WebSocket APIs. Build and extend conversational integrations, including telephony, messaging channels, and CRM connectors. Write clean, testable Python code following object-oriented programming (OOP) and best practices. Work with databases (relational or NoSQL) to model and optimize data flows. Participate in code reviews, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and production monitoring. Support cross-functional work with product, machine learning (ML), and front-end engineers. Qualification & Technical Skills: Strong Python skills, including idiomatic code, testing, and debugging. Web fundamentals, including a solid understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, WebSockets, and familiarity with WebRTC is a plus. Experience with Flask or FastAPI or Litestar, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and work with similar asynchronous frameworks. Experience with a relational database (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or a NoSQL database (MongoDB, Redis) is a plus. While not mandatory, frontend experience with React, Vue, or Angular is highly beneficial. A strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and a genuine eagerness to learn, is essential. Additionally, the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, team-oriented environment is highly valued. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Why Join Us?
