The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Factory Manager & Lead Testing & Design Engineer to head our Kolkata manufacturing facility . This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership — ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex transformer diagnostics while managing people, production, and performance. Key Responsibilities 🏭 Factory Management Lead end-to-end operations — production, planning, manpower, maintenance, and dispatch. Ensure adherence to IS/IEC standards, quality systems, and safety compliance. Oversee fabrication, winding, tanking, and final assembly operations. Manage vendor coordination, preventive maintenance, and resource efficiency. ⚙️ Testing & Diagnostics Head all routine, type, and special transformer tests as per IS 2026 / IS 1180 / IEC 60076. Diagnose transformer performance and determine if customer-reported faults are internal or external (e.g., switchgear, cables, system). Supervise and mentor testing engineers, ensuring calibration accuracy and compliance. Analyze test results and guide corrective actions in design or manufacturing. 🔩 Electrical & Mechanical Design Oversee both electrical and mechanical transformer designs up to 33 kV / 20 MVA. Validate flux density, current density, cooling, insulation, and OLTC selection. Approve CAD/SolidWorks drawings and design changes. Work with R&D to improve reliability and efficiency. 👥 Leadership & Reporting Lead technical and shop-floor teams with accountability and discipline. Maintain production targets, team performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Report directly to management on factory performance, challenges, and quality feedback. Required Skills & Experience B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Mechanical knowledge preferred). 15–20 years’ experience in transformer design, testing, and manufacturing. Deep knowledge of transformer fault analysis and diagnostic testing. Familiarity with AutoCAD , SolidWorks , and advanced testing instruments (SFRA, Tan Delta, Impulse, TTR).
