VMware NSX Admin

As a VMware NSX Engineer at our fast-growing enterprise IT infrastructure and software-defined networking company, your role will involve owning the end-to-end design, deployment, and administration of VMware NSX-T environments across production and DR sites. You will configure logical switches, distributed routers, Tier-0/1 gateways, load balancers, and firewall rules to enable secure micro-segmented networks. Integration of NSX with vSphere, vRealize, physical fabric, and 3rd-party security tools for holistic network visibility will be part of your responsibilities. Automation of routine provisioning and policy compliance via PowerCLI, Ansible, or Terraform to drive zero-touch changes is essential. Monitoring health, capacity, and performance, troubleshooting packet flows, and resolving L2-L7 issues in live environments will also be key tasks. Additionally, you will create architecture documents, runbooks, and mentor junior admins on SDN best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Own end-to-end design, deployment, and administration of VMware NSX-T environments across production and DR sites. - Configure logical switches, distributed routers, Tier-0/1 gateways, load balancers, and firewall rules for secure micro-segmented networks. - Integrate NSX with vSphere, vRealize, physical fabric, and 3rd-party security tools for holistic network visibility. - Automate routine provisioning and policy compliance via PowerCLI, Ansible, or Terraform. - Monitor health, capacity, and performance, troubleshoot packet flows, and resolve L2-L7 issues in live environments. - Create architecture documents, runbooks, and mentor junior admins on SDN best practices. Qualifications Required: - 3-6 years of experience administering VMware NSX-T or NSX-V in production. - Hands-on expertise with vSphere 6.x/7.x, ESXi hosts, DVS, and distributed firewall. - Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP/OSPF, VPN, and load-balancing concepts. - Experience troubleshooting using NSX Traceflow, Port-Mirroring, vRealize Network Insight, or equivalent. - Scripting knowledge (PowerCLI, Python, or Bash) for automation.
