As an Engineering Intern/Fresher for the automated dimming system in Automotive project located in Chennai on site, you will be involved in developing an automatic dimming system using camera-based sensors to detect and activate the windshield. This Proof of Concept (PoC) aims to validate the feasibility of the approach before proceeding with full product development. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and implement a real-time image processing system to detect lights using cameras. - Utilize OpenCV, Python/C++, and machine learning (if necessary) for vision-based detection. - Collaborate with embedded platforms (such as Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano) for real-time processing. - Design and integrate a low-latency communication system between sensors and the UV light emitter. - Optimize the system for accuracy, speed, and low power consumption. **Qualifications Required:** - Experience in computer vision & image processing (OpenCV, TensorFlow, etc.). - Knowledge of embedded systems & real-time processing. - Familiarity with microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.). - Ability to interface sensors and handle real-time data effectively. Location: Chennai with 70% Remote | Full-time Vitruv Motors is developing an Smart Glare Dimming System for vehicles — an adaptive LCD-based technology that protects drivers from night-time headlight glare. We’re looking for an automotive-grade embedded hardware designer to build the controller and driver electronics for this system. Key Responsibilities Design and develop automotive-grade embedded hardware for the Smart Glare Dimming system. Select and integrate suitable microcontrollers / automotive MCUs (e.g. STM32, NXP, TI, or Infineon) for controlling segmented LCDs. Design driver circuitry (high-voltage/low-voltage) for LCD segments and light control elements (UV/LED emitters). Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and component selection ensuring AEC-Q100/200 compliance where applicable. Work closely with firmware engineers to define hardware-software interfaces, including communication buses (CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C). Conduct DFMEA, thermal and EMI/EMC analysis, and ensure compliance with automotive standards (ISO 7637, CISPR 25, ISO 26262). Interface with mechanical and optical design teams to ensure robust integration of the dimming module into the vehicle architecture. Support prototype build, bench testing, and vehicle-level validation for functional and environmental performance. Document schematics, BOM, and validation results for design reviews and certification. Experience: 3-5 years in automotive embedded hardware design with OEM / Tier 1 supplier Experience with microcontrollers (STM32 / NXP / TI), power electronics, and CAN/LIN interfaces and programming language Strong grasp of PCB design tools (KiCad or Altium), EMI/EMC design, and automotive-grade components.
