Reporting to: Vice President, Tax (Renewables Power and Transition Group). About the role: The Manager, Tax will be involved in the tax functions of the group in India, which encompasses compliance, reporting and transaction structuring and execution. Tax compliance: Work closely with the advisors and manage compliances with tax laws for the various investment entities (including income-tax returns filings and transfer pricing filings) Work closely with the tax teams of the portfolio companies to oversee compliance / tax reporting for the various portfolio companies Stay updated on any changes in tax laws in India and ensure compliance with such requirements. 2. Deal support: Work closely with the investment teams and advisors to evaluate and analyze tax impact of investment, divestment, restructuring transactions (M&A activities”). Review and assist in implementation of the M&A activities, including negotiation of tax clauses of the transaction documents. Ideate on risk mitigation strategies on tax due diligence findings. 3. Strategic tax initiatives: Participate in strategic long-term planning for international and domestic income taxes in line with the business objectives Identify and analyze tax incentives available to the business. Qualifications Required: Position requires an individual with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant tax experience with a Big 4 accounting / tax firm Experience Required: • Good experience in / understanding of (a) Indian tax laws and international tax principles, (b) Indian tax compliances, (c) tax aspects of deal structuring, (d) fund structures and fund tax considerations Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent project management skills and an ability to handle high-stake complex assignments
