We are looking for a talented and storytelling-driven Video Editor to join our creative team. You won't just be cutting footage; you will be the final architect of our educational narrative. Your job is to transform raw lecture recordings, interviews, and scripts into polished, visually stimulating content that maximizes student retention.
If you know how to use pacing, sound design, and motion graphics to turn a "boring lecture" into an "unmissable experience," we want to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Editing: Edit high-quality educational videos, tutorials, promotional clips, and social media shorts (Reels/Shorts/TikToks) from raw footage.
- Visual Storytelling: Enhance learning retention by adding relevant B-roll, text overlays, lower thirds, and engaging transitions.
- Motion Graphics: Create clean, modern 2D animations and motion graphics to explain complex concepts (e.g., charts, diagrams, kinetic typography).
- Audio Post-Production: Perform audio cleanup (noise reduction, EQ), dialogue syncing, and sound design (SFX & background music) to ensure professional audio quality.
- Color Grading: Color correct and grade footage to ensure a consistent "EduQuest" brand look across all videos.
- AI Workflow Integration: Utilize modern AI tools (e.g., for captions, auto-reframing, or generative assets) to accelerate the editing workflow without sacrificing quality.
- Asset Management: Organize and manage a large library of video assets, stock footage, and project files.
- Collaboration: Work closely with scriptwriters, instructional designers, and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and flow.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 2-4+ years of experience in video editing (Portfolio/Reel required). Experience in EdTech or YouTube content creation is a massive plus.
- Software Mastery: Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro is acceptable if you can integrate into our workflow.
- Design Sense: Strong understanding of composition, typography, and color theory. You know how to make information look good.
- Pacing & Rhythm: You understand "Youtube retention" editing—cutting out dead air, keeping the energy up, and using pattern interrupts to keep learners engaged.
- AI Literacy: Familiarity with AI video tools (e.g., CapCut, Descript, Runway, or Adobe Firefly) for efficiency.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of codecs, frame rates, bitrates, and export settings for various platforms (LMS, YouTube, Instagram)
- Nice-to-Haves (Bonus Points)
- Experience creating high CTR thumbnails (Photoshop/Canva).
- Basic illustration skills for custom assets.
- Experience with camtasia or screen recording software.
- Ability to write basic scripts or hooks for social media clips.
Why Join EduQuest?
- Impact: Your work directly helps students learn and succeed.
- Creative Freedom: We encourage experimenting with new editing styles and formats.
- Growth: Access to paid courses and tools to upgrade your own editing skills.
- Culture: A collaborative, low-ego team that values quality over quantity.
