Vice President of Software Engineering

As the VP of Engineering - Lending Transformation at our rapidly growing technology company specializing in commercial and consumer loan origination, loan servicing, and deposit account opening, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all technology and engineering functions. With over 25 years of experience, you will lead product development, engineering strategy, and provide technical leadership to drive innovation and scale engineering operations. Your primary responsibilities will include defining and implementing the engineering strategy aligned with company goals, focusing on scaling, innovation, and quality. You will lead, manage, and grow multiple teams of software engineers to automate governance and compliance requirements, improve the developer experience, and modernize existing tech stacks. Collaboration with internal teams to identify areas for automation and machine learning will be key to driving efficiency and innovation. Collaborating with executive leadership, you will define the product and technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities. Building and retaining a high-performing engineering team will be crucial, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence. You will oversee the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable solutions for loan origination, servicing, deposit accounts, and other core products. Your role will involve driving the development and integration of Gen AI capabilities, machine learning models, and large language models (LLMs) to enhance customer experiences and operational efficiency. You will own architecture decisions and tech stack optimization, leveraging technologies such as AWS, Java, Node.js, React.js, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and more. Implementing best practices in software development, quality assurance, and DevOps will be essential to maintain high standards of performance, security, and reliability. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Sales, and Operations, to ensure alignment and successful delivery of initiatives. It will be your responsibility to ensure that all systems and processes adhere to regulatory standards, particularly in banking and finance, to mitigate risks related to data security, privacy, and compliance. To be successful in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with over 10 years of experience in engineering leadership roles, preferably within fintech, banking, or a related industry. Demonstrated expertise in leading large engineering teams, scaling technology organizations, and hands-on experience with various technologies and machine learning frameworks is required. Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations in financial services, excellent communication skills, strategic-thinking abilities, and a collaborative leadership style are also essential qualities for this position.
