Position Overview We seek a talented VFX Generalist with expertise in SideFX Houdini to join our dynamic R&D and VFX team. The successful candidate will work on diverse projects requiring procedural workflows, visual effects creation, and technical problem-solving. This role offers opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge R&D initiatives while working on client projects across various media productions. Key Responsibilities Visual Effects Production Create high-quality visual effects using SideFX Houdini for various media productions. Develop procedural workflows for efficient asset creation and scene management. Collaborate with team members to deliver projects within specified timelines and quality standards. Technical Implementation Execute complex visual effects sequences including simulations, procedural modeling, and particle systems. Optimize workflows and techniques to improve production efficiency. Troubleshoot technical challenges and provide innovative solutions for complex visual problems. Multi-Software Integration Work with Adobe Creative Suite for basic graphics and design requirements. Perform compositing tasks using Nuke and other industry-standard software. Adapt to proprietary in-house tools and software packages as required by specific projects. Research and Development Contribute to R&D initiatives exploring new techniques and technologies in visual effects. Document workflows and create technical resources for team knowledge sharing. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in visual effects production. Project Collaboration Participate in project planning and technical discussions with team members. Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding project progress and challenges. Maintain project documentation and ensure adherence to quality standards and deadlines. Required Qualifications Technical Skills Proficiency in SideFX Houdini with demonstrated experience in procedural workflows. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications. Basic understanding of compositing principles and software applications. Ability to learn and adapt to new software tools and proprietary systems. Professional Experience Experience in visual effects production for media and entertainment projects. Portfolio demonstrating technical proficiency and creative problem-solving abilities. Understanding of production pipelines and collaborative workflow processes. Personal Attributes Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in team environments. Working Conditions Schedule and Commitment Standard 48-hour work week with additional hours as required by project demands. Six-month probationary period with performance evaluation based on workflow management, creative input, communication, and overall contribution to team success. Confidentiality Requirements All work performed will be subject to strict non-disclosure agreements with clients and the company. Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding proprietary techniques, client projects, and business information. Select R&D work may be approved for portfolio inclusion, subject to company and client approval.
