Vertical Farm Designer

As a Vertical Farm Designer based in LA, you will play a crucial role in planning and designing indoor vertical farming systems. Your responsibilities will include integrating architectural design, plant growth science, and intelligent control systems to enhance crop yields, space utilization, and energy efficiency. Collaborating closely with various professionals, you will create sustainable solutions for the future of agriculture. Your key tasks will involve designing and optimizing vertical farm layouts, collaborating with project teams to merge agricultural technology with architectural design, researching innovative growing technologies, setting growing environment parameters, creating design drawings and models using software tools, evaluating project feasibility and environmental impact, monitoring project construction, and writing technical specifications and reports. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant fields, have at least three years of experience in vertical farming or related areas, be proficient in design software and modeling tools, possess a basic understanding of agricultural technologies, demonstrate strong project coordination and communication skills, and ideally have familiarity with green building standards. Fluency in English and international project experience are desirable. If you have a portfolio showcasing projects involving interactive spaces between buildings and plants, experience in agricultural technology companies or green infrastructure projects, knowledge of IoT and smart sensors, or the ability to design indoor ecosystems, it will be considered a plus.
