FURNITURE DESIGNER Location: Bangalore, India Experience: 5+ Years OR Degree/Diploma in Furniture Design Employment Type: Full-time Reports To: Design Head / Creative Director About Verbarq Pvt. Ltd. Position Overview We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Furniture Designer to join our creative and production teams in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will either hold a formal qualification in furniture design or bring at least five years of experience in designing furniture within a manufacturing environment. Experience in custom or luxury furniture will be a significant advantage. Key Responsibilities Develop design concepts and detailed drawings for bespoke furniture pieces based on client briefs and project requirements. Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and the production team to translate concepts into manufacturable designs. Prepare technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications for prototyping and production. Select appropriate materials, finishes, and joinery methods based on functionality, aesthetics, and cost parameters. Ensure all designs are feasible for production within the constraints of available technology and resources. Participate in sample reviews and oversee prototype development to refine design and ensure accuracy. Support the production team during manufacturing to maintain design integrity and quality standards. Stay updated on trends, innovations, and sustainable practices in furniture design and manufacturing. Skills & Competencies Strong creative vision with an understanding of ergonomics, proportions, and materials. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or Rhino. Knowledge of furniture construction, joinery techniques, and production processes. Excellent visualization and presentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively with production, procurement, and finishing teams. Attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and precision. Ability to balance design aesthetics with practical constraints like cost and manufacturability. Education & Experience Degree or Diploma in Furniture Design / Industrial Design from a recognized institution, OR Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in furniture design within a manufacturing company. Experience in luxury or custom furniture will be highly valued. Additional Information The role is based at Verbarq’s Bangalore design and production facility. Outstation candidates must be willing to relocate; relocation support will be provided where applicable. The position requires close coordination with the factory team and may involve site visits as needed.
