Position Overview As a Backend Engineering Intern, you&aposll play a pivotal role in developing and scaling our core backend services. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with modern technologies in a fast-paced startup environment, contributing to real-world features that impact thousands of events globally. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize backend services using Python and FastAPI for critical features like registration, ticketing, analytics, and media management. Create and refine PostgreSQL database schemas to handle high-volume event data efficiently. Leverage Redis for caching, queuing, and real-time processes such as check-ins, photo uploads, and live analytics. Deploy and manage services on AWS infrastructure, including ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch. Build robust data pipelines for media processing and analytics. Collaborate closely with frontend, product, and cross-functional teams to deliver seamless end-to-end features. Ensure system scalability, resilience, and production readiness while meeting tight deadlines. Required Qualifications(Must have) Proven experience in Python development, with hands-on proficiency in FastAPI. Strong understanding of Databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and performance optimization. Practical experience with Redis for caching, publish/subscribe messaging, and background task management is beneficial. Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions). Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs, authentication protocols (OAuth2/JWT), and security best practices. A startup-oriented mindset: adaptable, proactive, and thrives in high-pressure, dynamic environments. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to have) Expertise in observability tools like Sentry, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry for logging, metrics, and tracing. Familiarity with AWS services such as ECS, RDS, S3, and CloudWatch. Background in event technology, media workflows, or analytics platforms. Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform or CDK). Experience scaling microservices in high-traffic, production settings.
