Site Supervisor (Civil) – Job DescriptionPosition Summary A Site Supervisor (Civil) oversees on-site construction activities to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications and quality standards. The role involves supervising labor, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesSite Management & Supervision Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities at the project site. Ensure work is carried out according to drawings, specifications, and approved methods. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and labor teams to maintain smooth workflow. Monitor daily progress and ensure work is completed on schedule. Quality Control Conduct inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction processes. Identify and resolve technical issues or deviations from design specifications. Ensure proper implementation of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures. Resource Planning & Coordination Manage and allocate manpower, materials, equipment, and machinery. Coordinate material deliveries and maintain stock levels to avoid delays. Monitor subcontractor work and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Health, Safety & Compliance Enforce safety protocols and ensure all workers follow site safety guidelines. Report unsafe practices, accidents, or near-miss incidents promptly. Ensure compliance with local building regulations, government norms, and environmental standards. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily site records, including work progress, material consumption, and labor attendance. Prepare daily/weekly progress reports for the project manager or engineer. Assist in preparing measurement sheets, site sketches, and as-built documentation. Communication & Coordination Liaise with structural, architectural, and MEP teams for design clarifications. Communicate issues or delays to the project manager promptly. Attend site meetings and coordinate with clients, consultants, and authorities as required. Required Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 2–5+ years of on-site civil construction experience. Strong understanding of civil works (earthwork, concreting, shuttering, reinforcement, masonry, finishing). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and site layout plans. Knowledge of construction safety practices and local regulations. Preferred Qualifications Experience with large infrastructure, industrial, or commercial building projects. Ability to work with site-management tools or project tracking software. Knowledge of surveying and leveling instruments (auto-level, theodolite).
