User Experience Designer, Google Home Experiences

As a Motion Designer at Google, you will be an integral part of the team that focuses on creating desirable and relevant product experiences to consistently elevate the Google brand. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to help users make sense of their world by choreographing experiences that feel fluid, natural, and informative. The Google User Experience (UX) team, consisting of multi-disciplinary professionals, deeply cares about the users of Google products. Your role will involve gathering insights about user attitudes, emotions, and behaviors to inspire and inform design decisions. Working closely with UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers, you will contribute to creating industry-leading products that provide value to users and Google's businesses. Your responsibilities as a Motion Designer will include defining and implementing Google's motion design language, simplifying complex interactions, and solving challenging design problems. You will play a critical role in how motion reinforces Google's UX brand, enhances interactivity, and delights users. Additionally, you will work on the Google Home team, focusing on developing hardware, software, and services that make users" homes more helpful. Minimum qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 6 years of motion design experience in product design, UX design, or UI animation. Preferred qualifications consist of a Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, 3 years of experience in a cross-functional organization, and 2 years of experience leading design projects. Experience related to physics, patterns, motion design, and visual design elements is also desired. Your key responsibilities will involve defining and implementing the look and feel of Google products through motion design, providing guidance on animation and transitions for various devices and platforms, and driving projects from concept to implementation.
