In this role as an FSO- SALT WAM Senior at EY, you will be responsible for developing, mentoring, and supervising Analysts and Advanced Analysts. Your role will involve acting as a counsellor for the team members, proactively recognizing issues, and recommending solutions. You will also be expected to diversify client load, foster collaboration within the team, and demonstrate basic presentation and public speaking skills. Communication skills will be crucial as you will be required to communicate in various situations and update supervisors on project status. It is important to take ownership of your schedule and proactively seek work to meet annual goals. Adherence to practice protocol and internal processes is essential, and exploring rotation opportunities is encouraged. Your key responsibilities will include: - Demonstrating great knowledge on state tax compliance, preparing and reviewing state tax returns and disclosure statements - Staying updated on recent tax reforms and their impact on various state jurisdictions - Identifying opportunities for process improvement and ensuring the use of specific tax methodologies, tools, and technology such as Go-systems - Understanding state withholding and composite returns, state nexus concepts, apportionment methods, and filings - Identifying and resolving issues on engagements, providing constructive feedback to team members, and encouraging a positive team environment - Maintaining focus on work products, responding promptly to client and team needs, and emphasizing key quality drivers for work assignments - Building positive relationships with internal professionals and clients by demonstrating integrity and genuineness Qualifications required for this role: - Graduate/Postgraduate in a finance, numerical, or statistical background - EA certification will be an added advantage - 3-4 years of relevant experience in state and local taxes EY is committed to building a better working world by creating long-term value for clients, people, and society.
