Strong cloud expertise, particularly with AWS or Google Cloud, and hands-on experience with Git, Docker, MySQL or Postgres, and server-side tooling. Experience designing and scaling backend services from scratch, with solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems. Commercial experience in high-scale startups, with at least 3 years working on backend systems and 2+ years with Python. Comfortable with integrating third-party APIs (e.g., Modulr, Truelayer, Checkout.com) to build lending, collections, and payment systems. Proven ability to build internal tools that automate operations and save engineering hours. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the overall product direction and launch in an iterative test and learn cycle Understand and empathise with our customers.
