Job Title: Highway Design Drafting & Georeferencing Engineer / Draftsperson Location: Ranchi Department: Engineering Reports To: Dy Manager Job Type: Full-time Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional to join our engineering team as a Highway Design Drafting & Georeferencing expert. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed highway design drawings, plans, and maps using CAD software and accurately georeferencing spatial data to integrate with GIS systems and other mapping tools. Key Responsibilities:Prepare and revise detailed drawings and layouts for highway and roadway projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar CAD software. Develop cross-sections, alignment plans, profiles, and grading plans in accordance with design specifications. Perform georeferencing of drawings, satellite imagery, and survey data to ensure spatial accuracy and proper integration with GIS platforms. Interpret and apply engineering sketches, survey notes, and technical data into detailed design plans. Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, standards (IRC, MORTH, AASHTO, etc.), and project specifications. Work closely with highway engineers, survey teams, and GIS specialists to validate and correct spatial data. Maintain drawing documentation, layer management, file naming conventions, and version control protocols. Assist in quantity estimation, report preparation, and coordination with the project team. Required Qualifications & Skills:Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field. Minimum 2–5 years of experience in highway design drafting and georeferencing. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and basic understanding of GIS tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS). Solid understanding of highway geometric design, plan and profile drawings, and topographic mapping. Familiarity with GPS/survey data and coordinate systems (e.g., UTM, WGS84). Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and spatial alignment. Good communication and teamwork skills.
